In this volume, a sequel to The Way of A Man with a Maid (another Scarlet Library classic), Tom Sargent once again brings to life the dastardly acts of Jack, the most charming and seductive cad in the history of Edwardian pornographic writing. The girls are different, the background is rural, but the theme is an exciting variation on its predecessor.

In a country house setting, Jack's luscious Three Graces, Helen, voluptuous, big-breasted hostess, her gorgeous, irrepressibly randy young daugher Maud (already a widow and wildly frustrated) and her deliciously nubile but timid and virginal niece Alice, prepare themselves for Alice's defloration; all shed their Edwardian inhibitions with surprising ease as night after night Jack engages them in an increasingly inventive and amazingly indecent series of sexual games. In the course of Alice's 'education', the writer skilfully juxtaposes her virginal innocence with a growing sexual awareness and lust. While Jack fulfils his duties with as much magnificent élan as shown in The Way of a Man with a Maid, he is more teasing in his seduction of these delectable country ladies. The action, however, is no less furious, and the balance between innocent modesty and rampant lust is again exquisitely maintained.

Quickly I placed myself in position between Maud's legs, and let myself down on to her breasts; and as her arms stonishment as she saw how easily closed lovingly around me, I brought my prick to bear against the lips of her throbbing, excited cunt and gently forced it in. 'Look, Alice, look!' whispered Helen excitedly. Maud's cunt engulfed my prick. Soon it was buried in Maud till our hairs intermingled. 'Oh, Jack... darling!' Maud murmured ecstatically with half-closed eyes, as after showering burning kisses on her sweet lips I began to fuck her.

This book is not for prudes or philistines. Nor is it for those who are likely to be offended by what may be considered politically incorrect, when taken out of its historical context. Incest was rife among the poor and the working classes in the mid-19th century. And so it held a particular horror for the middle classes of that time: somewhere between a prurient fascination and a deep-seated fear that they, too, might succumb to this awful vice.
